It was a crisp, misty morning here at the orchard and the cooler temperatures are ideal for apple-ripening. We picked Cortland this week and will have McIntosh and Gala throughout the weekend, as well. Cider is in stock, too!
Cortland: A crisp, tart apple. Great for baking and apple sauce.
McIntosh: Juicy and tart. We like them for eating and baking.
Gala: Crunchy and sweet. Popular for eating and salads.
We also have local honey for sale from Bedillion Honey Farm. Their bee hives visit our orchard in the spring to help pollinate the apple blossoms which become fruit in the fall. Three cheers for keeping it local!
Getting here: Due to construction and closures on Malone Ridge Rd and Rt 18, we recommend taking Jefferson Ave/Rt 844 west from the city of Washington. Turn right onto Linnwood and follow the Taggart’s Orchard signs.
